I found this at Jalitha's

I find that I am still trying to internalize ROTK. I have seen it three times now and am still moved by the same scenes. Because I want to stay giddy, I am ignoring all conversations on my lists because I find most people are either too picky or impossible to satisfy. I am rather forgiving of the flaws and have hope for the extended. In the meantime, I was given a near perfect Sam - I love Sean Astin... The architecture leaves me breathless and Aragorn, well, gah - That kiss was so great, I'm not caring that Arwen was on the receiving end; he was so obviously in love at that moment. When Tay gets screen caps of it for me, I can photoshop another face there and all will be right with the world.

If I don't get back here before I leave for the Holidays on Tuesday morning, have a wonderful time!

Knight of Wands

Self Portrait, 1988
Robert Maplethorpe

This Knight is charming, self-assured, bold, adventurous and passionate, and the fire in this Wand does not allow for moderation. There is a duality with this knight that is intriguing and, at times, scary. He is attractive, seductive and smooth but may focus on the superficial and expedient. While he is convinced of his talents and lacks self-doubt, he can be brash and boastful. His willingness to take risks and meet challenges may lead to restlessness - perhaps a compulsion for constant stimulation, endangering not only himself but others as well. His passion is easily tapped, but his loyalty and conviction can rouse feelings of protectiveness as easily as anger and he frequently acts without thought – both generously and selfishly.

I am off to crash at Fileg's place. Tomorrow we are getting up an ungodly hour to stand on line for a reasonable seat for Trilogy Tuesday! Yippee ki-ay!

Just saying is all... I hope all of you enjoy ROTK!

I was at Blockbuster last night. I took the three kids I was watching out to dinner and to pick out a movie for evening consumption. Their Blockbuster rocks! I was unprepared for the selection given the lack thereof at mine. It is a shame that theirs is 45 minutes from my place, it makes it almost entirely useless.

They had an anime section. Since Fileg has gotten me completely addicted to anime art, I have been trying to find shows and movies that I like before I begin blind purchasing.

I rented "Voices of a Distant Star." It was amazing - beautiful, soulful, loving and so sad. If any of you have the opportunity to see this do, it is only 25-30 minutes long and the English speaking voices are lovely. The entire movie was created by a young man on his Power Mac. The English translation was poetic. If you dig love stories, see this...

The other movie I watched was "Whale Rider." It was so much better than I had read. The strength and spirituality of both Koru and Paikea shine and clash and evolve perfectly. Keisha Castle-Hughes is breath-taking.

Four of Wands

Jubilant celebration! Rejoice in recognition of a major accomplishment. Take pride in achieving a milestone. Enjoy newly gained freedom, cut loose - delight in the moment and look to the future with relish. While the past had its difficulties and the future will certainly hold challenges, this is a moment of exhilaration...  Cherish it, live it and keep it within you always.
A/N  The image is perfect for this card - the four axles on the skates were my wands and the building rubble, past and future hardship/challenge. The joy is self-evident as is the milestone achieved and the wheels are freedom.

I was trapped in traffic on Route 1 tonight. I was watching kids and had just dropped the eldest off at church for weekly fellowship and was trying to get to the rink to drop one of the others off and pick up two others. Brooks was in the car with me and we were catching up with each other's news. I have known him for years and we hadn't seen each other in a while. After about 20 minutes sitting on the highway, a yellow Dodge Truck - tricked out like a dune buggy cut me off.

His license plate glared at me from it's neon green lit frame "CRAZED". As my eye moved down to the bumper, I saw the expected Ron Jon Surf Shop stickers and one that read "Horn Broken - watch for finger." Cute. But my annoyance kicked up a huge notch as I noticed hanging from the undercarriage - just below the trailer hitch a - scrotum.

You probably think I mistyped - but no. It was a bit larger than life, but the left one hung lower and they were remarkably life like. My only hope was that they were the driver's. For the next half hour I sat in traffic, getting later and later for picking up the two kids waiting for me.

You would think that it would be easy to simply not look. But they were completely unavoidable. After I had tried to ignore them for ages, I expressed my moral indignation concerning the vehicle in front of me and Brooks asked what I was talking about. He is in 6th grade and plays sports, I am certain he is familiar with the equipment, so I told him to look under the hitch on the bumper. There was silence from the back seat for all of 30 seconds and then, as only an 11 year old can express it, I heard him groan "Oh, that is so gross!" He was correct.

After another ten minutes. In the middle of our conversation, he told me that he couldn't stop looking at it. When I was again cut off we both cheered and offered our combined sympathy to the car now in front of us.

The question that I am now left with is... Why? Why would someone make balls for a car? Why would someone drop good money on one? and why would anyone actually put them on their car?

Legolas Greenleaf

If I were a character in The Return of the King, I would be Legolas, an Elf and a son of the King of Mirkwood.

In the movie, I am played by Orlando Bloom.

Who would you be?

Two of Wands

Feuerreifen (Firehoop)
By Gerhard Glück

The Two of Wands is about defining goals and boldness of vision, the ability to harness one’s personal energy to achieve one’s dreams. It denotes personal courage, originality and the ability to gain respect of others. Face your fears and seize control, this is the time to stand apart from the crowd and pave your own path with outrageous daring. Carpe diem!

Here in Central Jersey, we're in the midst of a snow storm. It was snowing when I got up and has not truly stopped all day. Because it finally looked like Christmas, I wanted to shop. Luckily I live in a State of wusses, no one was out. I was able to get parking near the stores and got in and out with relatively little fuss. Got loot! Now if the roads do get bad, I won't mind. I have hot cocoa and wrapping paper as well as the extended TTT and my niece's copy of POTC.

The past several evenings I have dedicated myself to downloading as many pics of the ROTK premiers as possible, I am going to be sorting pic files for the next five years, good thing I don't have much of a life...

I'm just rambling here while I wait for "The Tonight Show" to begin so I can see the Orlando Bloom interview. And to further kill time I took the following quiz. I cheated until I got the picture of him I wanted. I am amazed at the answers it required - I kept getting sexy Orlando no matter how I answered all of the questions I didn't care about. But as soon as I changed my answers from Viggo being my favorite actor and Aragorn being my favorite character, bam! I lose the sexy icon... what's up with that?
